Finally, Statistical Insights into the Dr Ong Hean Tatt, Ph.D.. 25 July 2019, revised 12 October 2019. A true unique remarkable statistics based highly scholarly decoding of the King Wen I Ching and its practical applicable meanings!
If there is one ancient text many scholars would like to understand, it is the King Wen I Ching. Our research have made comparative analysis which has finally unveiled the code for the sequence of the hexagrams of King Wen I Ching. Besides the necessary examination of the many commentaries, the research has also looked at other aspects of the Chinese culture, without which the deciphering of King Wen I Ching would be very difficult, if not impossible. It has been regarded, from ancient times to now, that the true secrets of the I Ching had been lost:
BREAKTHROUGH: It has been found from our statistics oriented research that the code of King Wen I Ching has basis in the interactions of at least two major factors. One is that the sequence of the hexagrams follow the sequential flow of seasonal parameters. The other factor is that the sequence of the contents of the hexagrams also follow closely the sequence of historical events occurring during the fall of the Shang dynasty.
Learn the true reasons and methods of the "yarrow stalks" divination
Taking "32 pairs of hexagrams" is a breakthrough step, as it alerted the author to look carefully at Hexagram 51 Chen for Arousing Thunder and Hexagram 52 for Keeping Still Mountain. The comparative analysis shows that the 12 lines of Duke Chou's lines to Hexagram 51 Chen for Arousing Thunder and Hexagram 52 for Keeping Still Mountain have similar meanings as the 12 Sections of Sun Zi's Art of War. Hexagram 52 Ken is mostly concerned with planning issues and its 6 lines correspond to Sections 1 to 6 in Sun Zi's Art of War. Hexagram 51 Chen is action oriented and its 6 lines correspond to Sections 7 to 12 of Sun Zi's Art of War. The comparative analysis has a statistical significance or probability of 0.000244. It is obvious that the King Wen I Ching has ill-understood strategic management principles as found in Sun Zi's Art of War. It is a myth that the King Wen I Ching is just an oracle to be used in fortune telling.

The lines Duke Chou gave for the hexagrams should be carefully scrutinised. For, their internal contents show that the "32 pairs of hexagrams" are arranged to reflect the flow of the seasons starting from Summer Solstice in Hexagrams 1 and 2, and ending with the 4th Moon in Hexagram 63. The sequence of the 32 pairs of hexagrams follows the sequence of the seasons and their Cardinal Directions and this comparative analysis has a statistical significance of 0.00195.
The major reason why many failed to crack the secrets of King Wen I Ching is their poor knowledge of the ancient Chinese history, especially the fall of the Shang dynasty. Some commentators had regarded the King Wen I Ching as reflecting the struggles between the dying Shang dynasty and the Chou leaders. Comparative analysis, along with at least 2 statistical analysis, indicates that the sequence of the hexagrams in the King Wen I Ching actually do trace sequentially the events of the fall of the Shang dynasty. It has been speculated that Hexagrams 1 and 2 refer to a female force eclipsing the male force. This fits into the incidence of the last Shang emperor Chou Hsin being influenced by his notorious concubine Daiji. Towards the closing, Hexagram 63 refers to the "emperor conquer" and this alludes to the 4th Moon formalising of the victory of founding emperor Wu Wang in defeating the Shang. This reinforces the earlier indication that the King Wen I Ching is actually a military cyclic strategy management text! The correlation of the hexagrams with the history of the fall of the Shang dynasty is one in factorial 30, which is an astronomically high significance.
One university Chinese professor told me, ""Those who do not understand degraded the I Ching into a fortune telling thing." The foolish use of King Wen I Ching for fortune telling originates from the wrong understanding of what was the ancient yarrow stalks divination.
