Introduction Dr. Ong Hean Tatt and Chan Seng Siang have published the new book, "Imperial Tomb Feng Shui - Truths, Myths and Science". The book is based on long standing scientific and historical research into Feng Shui and astrology, which uncovers startling findings pertaining to Feng Shui of Yin premises. The Chinese geomancy world is divided about tomb Feng Shui. Some are fearful to meddle in tomb Feng Shui, as they believe that errors can harm generations of the family. Some well known Feng Shui masters openly express skepticism about the validity of tomb Feng Shui. Also, like for Yang Feng Shui, there are many different theories of Yin Feng Shui with several contradictions. One master criticised practitioners of Yin Feng Shui as not knowing what they are doing.
Dr. Ong had initial reservations about tomb Feng Shui, but our research convinces him that tomb Feng Shui is indeed valid and very potent. However, there are also bad news for current levels of tomb Feng Shui. The research into the historical testimony and the ancient texts show that much of modern conventional tomb Feng Shui are in errors! Still, Feng Shui of Yin premises is very potent if properly done. Modern Feng Shui practitioners like to attribute their Feng Shui, both Yang and Yin styles, to the famous Tang dynasty Feng Shui grandmaster Yang Yun Sung. Well, Yang Yun Sung testified to the potency of Feng Shui of Yin premises in his Question 1 to Yi Lung Jing:
So, starting with the assumption that Feng Shui of Yin premises does work, we should ask how does it work? Unfortunately, much confusion has set into current concepts of Feng Shui of Yin premises and it is necessary to sweep away the rubbish.
The Riddle With respect to Feng Shui of Yin premises what kind of ancient tomb would come to mind? There is the magnificent huge mausoleum of Qin emperor Shi Huang Di, circa 250 BC. But, Shi Huang Di's tomb may not be a good example as his Qin dynasty was a very short one, about 40 years. An older well known tomb would be that of Confucius at Qufu, Jiangsu province. Confucius died in 600 BC. It was founding Han emperor Kao Tsu, circa 250 BC, who made the first imperial visit to the tomb of Confucius. After that, emperors or their representatives would visit Confucius' tomb and showered honours and gifts on the Kung family. Hence, generation aftrer generation of members of the Kung family have enjoyed blessings for over 2,000 years. The Feng Shui of Confucius' tomb must be very potent. King He Lu, circa 500 BC tried to destroy the Feng Shui of Confucius' tomb by diverting a river to pass through the grounds. But that move actually improves the Feng Shui of the burial grounds of Confucius! Confucius' tomb would be a very good example of successful tomb Feng Shui! Those who ensure that their ancestors were properly buried would get good Feng Shui. Only, one unexpected event destroys that myth. Red Guards vandalised the cemetery. When they opened up Confucius' tomb they were stumped by a great mystery. Confucius' tomb is empty! If there was never a corpse in Confucius' tomb, how did the Kung family obtain generations of blessings from Feng Shui of Yin premises?
Yang Yun Sung's Answer to the Riddle. Chinese authorities and scholars were dumfounded by the empty tomb of Confucius. However, Tang Feng Shui grandmaster Yang Yun Sung had already written down in his Yi Lung Jing the answer to the riddle:
Yang Yun Sung made the surprising statement that the power of Feng Shui of Yin premises is not due to the coffin and its contents! Instead, he stated the reason behind the long lasting 400 years of the Han dynasty is due to "the praying ceremony joss sticks and candles bright".
Ancestor Worship as Key to Feng Shui of Yin premises It is the ancestor worship ceremonies undertaken at the tombs which underly the power of Feng Shui of Yin premises, not the actual tomb and its mortal remains. So, you do not really have to have a corpse in the tomb to get the benefits of tomb Feng Shui. That is why the Chinese had built tombs to those whose bodies were missing. There were the empty tombs of the ancient emperors Yao Shun Yu. A more recent famous tomb is that of Kuan Kung the God of War. Yes, it was not even necessary for the tomb to have a corpse to have tomb Feng Shui! This is good news for many who wonder whether it is right to cremate the body. There are those whose beloveds' bodies could not be found. Well, you can actually create tombs for them to undertake the ancestor worship or memorial. There is a lot of hype about the tomb and its features. Without the ancestor worship there is no tomb Feng Shui.
