People have an inherent curiosity about the unknown and unusual. Horoscopes are fun readings and, actually, most do not take them seriously. In meetings and parties they are good for a laugh, but that is about it and they often forgot how wrong the predictions really were.
For those few who are serious about their horoscopes, they know that the customary annual predictions are insufficient and even irrelevant. Whether a year is good or bad, it is up to the individual to plan and control how the year can fare for him. If the annual reading just tickles him, then the annual reading is irrelevant to him for planning the year. That individual then will not use astrology to plan his year.
If that individual wants to use astrology to help plan his year, then a proper horoscope must be cast through one of the complete divination arts, like Zi Wei Dou Shu or Ba Zi Eight Characters divination. There is no escape from such a complete divination.
- The person's fundamental astrological qualities have to be known. If that person is destined to be a farmer, then how Destiny affects the sea may not be of relevant to him. How Destiny affects the weather may be of greater relevance. Destiny affects a wide range of things, but only a portion will be relevant to one or the other person.
Some periods in the year may be good for his qualities. Then, the person may seek enhancers to boost his qualities.
Other periods in the year may not be so good. If those periods are critical, then remedies must be applied to counter the potential adverse conditions.
One may want to use a special sanshi divination meant for the year, like a Tai Yi Shen Shi forecast, which can tell whether a person should be active and aggressive or lie low and be patient in the year. The Tai Yi Shen Shi divination can also tell which activities and qualities are affected.
If the above are realised, then astrology can be one factor in a life planning. That is what astrology should be, a life planning tool.
So, be practical. The year predictions are only the first step. Otherwise, the often erratic annual conflicting predictions are amusing enough for a laugh. Go for a "Kingship Astrology"!
