Introduction There is recently published in 2006 a Korean Feng Shui book written by Yoon Hong-key based on his Ph.D thesis research at the Berkeley campus of the University of California. He noted the amusing trend among top Korean politicians in tranfers of their ancestors' tombs to new sites to get effective good Feng Shui for their bids for presidency! Yoon notes that the Korean Feng Shui originated with Master Toson. In the AD 800s, Toson had gone to China to learn Feng Shui and he brought this Tang dynasty's Feng Shui into Korea. In large, the Korean Feng Shui faithfully keeps to the Tang dynasty's Feng Shui style and may indicate the true original Feng Shui taught by Yang Yun Sung. The Korean Feng Shui emphasises a cardinal key requirement for both Yang and Yin premises. It is necessary for the site to adopt the Ming Tang features of the Four Heraldic Beasts of the Phoenix,
The Korean Feng Shui does not have all those directions common in Chinese Xuan Kong Feng Shui. There are no fine divisions of the directions into the 60 sexagenary signs or the 64 hexagrams, which appear to be later dubious inventions. The landform is the chief deciding factor in Korean Feng Shui in determining the auspiciusness of the site. Another key aspect of the landform is that the land must have green plants and not be barren. Bury your ancestors in barren areas and your generations will be likewise barren!
Key Requirement of Four Animals' Physical Features Tang Feng Shui grandmaster Yang Yun Sung, crica AD 900, had already stated that the auspicious site must have the four animals features:
The famous Guo Po, circa AD 250, also emphasised the same cardinal requirement of the four animals' features:
Get a site fulfilling these four animals' physical features and you would have got almost all the Feng Shui power. Do not be misled by all those fanciful 1o accuracy in shifting of tombstones, etc.
South Facing The serious flaw in all those Xuan Kong directions is that the historical Chinese Yang and Yin premises predominantly have South facing! No premises would hardly be directed to face North and the adjoining Northeast or Northwest. Thus, a significant portion of the Luopan directions used in Xuan Kong Feng Shui have no meanings.
The South facing is part of the four animals' features. Anyone wants to venture a reason why the South facing is so cardinally vital? There must be a good logical or scientific reason why the South facing is so potent. Write in and perhaps we may supply you the astonishing answer!
Afterthought Clients are not likely to know Feng Shui well and socalled Feng Shui practitioners can get away with just a smuttering of Feng Shui lore. The clients, not knowing any better, would be too fearful to question the Feng Shui masters and would pay dearly for their ignorance. There is no doubt that Feng Shui of Yin premises can produce powerful Feng Shui effects, as Yang Yun Sung did write that down. However, Yang Yun Sung would not sanction all those erratic modern conventional tomb Feng Shui. Much of modern conventional tomb Feng Shui have to be revamped to produce potent Feng Shui of Yin premises. Many current Feng Shui practitioners are carried away by the Compass Xuan Kong schools and usually are not familiar with the vital more important Luan Tou concepts of the Ming Tang and the four animals. Most tombs will therefore violate auspicious Feng Shui.
