The Ancient Clues

The popular standard 1910 Rider-Waite Tarot set is a most modern "over-simplification of the ancient Tarot". The Tarot is said to be there as early as AD 1400s as playing cards, and became divination tool in the AD 1800s. But the Rider-Waite cards show clues which betray origins to before 2000 BC.

There are Egyptian symbols like the Sphinx. The "0 Fool" had a more ancient Crocodile imagery, which reflects the Egyptian crocodile god Sobek. Sobek assisted Ra to slay the Serpent and is associated with regeneration. The "1 Magician" holds the "Wand of Mercury". The "2 High Priestess" holds the Torah. She is also Isis the Corn Maiden.

Card 10 has the Buddhistic "8 Spokes Wheel of Destiny". Card 19 Sun has the image of the boy riding the white horse. This is the coming Messiah Kalki on the White Horse, last avatar of Vishnu, venerated in Middle East, Hindu and Buddhist circles and equated with the Biblical Christ returning on a white horse as the Messiah. There is even a Biblical imagery of the "16 Tower of Babel".

Trying to understand one ancient culture is tough enough. But so many imagery from the different religions form a mind-boggling kaleidoscopic flotsam. Those who have no broad knowledge of the ancient cultures will find Tarot producing a mental shield which will block their understanding.

A Scientific Proof What Tarot is

Many years ago, we made a momentous scientific discovery that the Chinese unequal 28 Lunar Constellations track the unequal 28 segments of the heterogeneous surface of the Sun. We taught this to our Zi Wei Dou Shu students. At that time we found that the 32 pairs of hexagrams of King Wen I Jing could be statistically correlated to the Chinese 28 Lunar Constellations. We found that 66 out of the 108 "stars" of Zi Wei Dou Shu are from the 28 Lunar Constellations. This is a brilliant breakthrough which scientifically established that astrology is an advance astronomical science – what scientists call "cosmo-biology".

These findings will not be elaborated here; but you can write to us to learn in relevant courses. However, this exegesis will touch on the scientific evidence that the Tarot Major Arcanas are correlated to the 28 Lunar Constellations, as illustrated in the Table 1.

When you compare the respective properties of the 28 Lunar Constellations and those of the Tarot 22 Major Arcana, there would be some 20 Major Arcanas showing correspondences with the 28 Lunar Constellations. Note how the properties of the Lunar Constellations are also in the same sequence as the properties of the Arcanas. This is a very powerful significant proof that the 28 Lunar Constellations and 22 Major Arcanas are the same things!

The proof also shows that the Tarot Major Arcanas follow the cyclic seasonal flow as seen in the 28 Lunar Constellations. That is, the Tarot Major Arcanas, like th 28 Lunar Constellations, track the seasonal solar radiation and their effects on human development and behaviour.

Some have tried to associate the Tarot Major Arcanas with Western Zodiac signs, meaning they recognise the Major Arcanas track effects through the seasons. Here we are presenting a much deeper and more objective picture.

What is important is that the 22 Major Arcana of Tarot were also statistically correlated to the 28 Lunar Constellations and also to the 32 pairs of hexagrams of I Jing. That is, 28 Lunar Constellations, 32 pairs of hexagrams of I Jing and the Tarot 22 Major Arcanas are actually similarly tracking the seasonal fluctuations of solar radiations which affect human biology and behaviour. Tarot is highly scientific, not withstanding what foolish skeptics say. Skeptics are just blind.
